written by The new Smart Update brings you more details about Law no. 149/2025, which amends the Romanian Labour Code by introducing new rights for parents who have dependent children classified with a degree of disability or twin/multiple children.
These employees will be entitled to the following benefits, upon presenting the child’s disability classification certificate:

they may work from home or in a remote work arrangement for 8 days per month if they have a dependent child with a disability (up to the age of 18);

they are granted 2 additional days for each additional child with a degree of disability;

the same rights also apply to parents of twins, triplets, or multiple children.
The purpose of this amendment is to support parents of children with special needs by offering greater flexibility in organizing their work.
